Lone Star Symphonic Band What's Up?
March 3, 2019 4:00pm Well, what is up? Business, leisure activities, plans for the weekend? Also, don’t forget jets, kites, birds, sun, moon... the sky is the limit! On March 3, 2019 the Lone Star Symphonic Band will ring in the spring season with their uplifting concert entitled “What’s Up?”. Mr. Michael Brashear, Executive Director of the Texas Bandmasters Association, will guest conduct the Band for two pieces of this anticipated performance. Audience members will enjoy a light-hearted performance of “The Wizard of Oz” and Gustav Holst’s popular movement “Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity”, as well as a famous piece by renowned composer John Williams that will have them waving their lightsabers in time with the Band. Culinary Stars Suit Up for 3rd Annual Chef Fest
Eleven local chefs will transform seasonal produce into a feast of freshness at the 3rd Annual Chef Fest, noon to 4 p.m, Sunday, March 10, at Harvest Green. The celebration of local food and culinary expertise at the Harvest Green Village Farm, 8939 Harlem Road includes all food, craft cocktails, local wine and beer, live music and more. Tickets are $95 for adults, $30 for children ages 5 to 16 and free for ages 4 and under. A VIP experience is available for $130. A portion of the proceeds benefits I’ll Have What She’s Having.
